These offer more power output over the standard helical gears by reducing friction, and side loading on the thrust washers A revised gear ratio has been implemented on these gear sets- stock ratio is 26/58 = 2.230, these gearsets are using 27/59 = 2.185 which increases the clutch torque capacity by 2.1% and allows a steeper swingarm angle to be used. Outside party tests have shown an increase of around 6bhp on a 100bhp engine by fitting straight cut primary gears. This gear set retains the use of the clutch basket 'Cush Drive'. | Product Description | This is a drop in replacement for the stock RG500 transmission. This transmission solves several of the classic problems of the stock gearbox. First, it is more robust. It has been designed with strength and long lasting durability as it's foremost characteristic. High quality, high strength materials and material treatments have been employed to make this, by far, a superior transmission assembly. The material selected is SAE 4340 nickel-alloy steel. Heat treated and tempered back to Rc 34 and gas nitride hardened to a .30 mm deep case. Second, the gear ratios have been modified to provide for more consistent close ratio performance. This also corrects the steep 1st gear ratio that is a nuisance with the stock transmission. Third, the drive-lug, (drive-dog), design provides for quick, easy, rock-solid engagement. The three-on-three gear to gear design allows the drive-lugs to be large and robust even with the tapered under-cutting which prevents the transmission from "popping" out of gear. Also a common problem with the stock transmission. Finally, this transmission also has Needle Roller bearings employed as the bearing elements in all non splined gears. There is even one provided for the kickstart gear. There are also oil relief grooves in all of the required gear faces and oil passage holes in both shafts to facilitate superior bearing oiling and longer life. The drive shaft has also been lengthened by 10 mm to aid those who wish to run a wider tire and need to space the drive sprocket out farther. A spacer will be provided for this purpose. (If you don't utilize this option, the spacer needs to be used under the sprocket nut.) Billet Disc Valve Covers

| Product Description | These disc valve covers have been designed to remove the problem of the anti-friction material coming away from the stock disc valve covers. On stock covers when the anti-friction material becomes unstuck it can get caught up in the disc valve and get passed into the engine. You cannot buy the anti-friction material separately so you have to buy a new cover, but of coarse the same thing can happen again. These covers have been precision machined from solid billet ally and do not rely on anti-friction material, instead they have been 'Hard Anodised' to remove any possible cause of binding. This is a process proven by Rotax Disc Valve engines. As can be seen from the above picture, two different types of cover are available, the bottom two covers show a stock replacement cover, these have been redesigned to use a larger 'o' ring to allow the stock carbs to be bored and not break into the groove. The top two covers are essential if you are converting your engine to use TMX35mm carbs, this cover has an extra large carb mount to accept the rubber spigot adapter needed to mount the carbs, a pilot hole has been bored into the disc but final port shape will have to be determined by the end user. |
